Michael Gibson, like me, studied Philosophy at university. In a chain of events, he met Peter Thiel, and started to fund young university dropouts with the Thiel Fellowship. In 2015 he co-founded 1517 fund, a venture capital fund that invests in "dropouts working on hard problems & sci-fi scientists at the earliest stages of their companies". This book tells his story.
